Symptom first, fix second

When a channel will not load

A single dead channel and a dead line look nothing alike once you know what to compare. The useful question is how many other channels behave the same way, and the answer points at three very different causes. Work through them in this order.

One channel fails, the rest are fine

That is a source or a host problem, not a line problem. Try the same channel on a different mirror host before you touch anything else, because a stream can be healthy on one host and stalled on another for an hour at a time. If it plays elsewhere in the line-up but nowhere on any host, the source itself is down and nothing on your end fixes it. Report it with the exact channel name as it appears in your list, not the name you call it at home.

Everything fails at once

Stop looking at channels. Simultaneous failure across the whole list is an authentication story: expired line, reissued credentials, a typo in the host field after an edit, or a second device that grabbed the stream. Check whether anyone else in the building opened the app in the last few minutes. That accounts for more of these than people admit.

The channel is not in your line-up at all

Missing is not the same as broken. Credentials authenticate against one regional package, so a channel that a friend watches on their line may simply not exist on yours. Searching for it inside the app will return nothing, which reads like a fault but is not one. If you were expecting it, the honest answer is that the region on your line does not carry it, and no amount of refreshing changes that.

Renamed, renumbered, or cached

Line-ups get reorganized at source, and most players hold onto the version they downloaded until you force a refresh. Before reporting a disappearance, reload the playlist or log out and back into the profile. On apps that cache aggressively, clearing the app data is the only reliable reload. A channel that returns after a refresh was never gone.

Some dead entries are normal

A list this size will always have a few entries broken at any given hour, and that is not evidence of a bad line. Judge health by the channels you actually watch, tested across two hosts, rather than by clicking down an unfamiliar category until something fails. The second approach will always find something.

EPG blank, channel playing

Program guide data arrives on a separate feed from the video, so an empty guide with a working picture is a guide fault and nothing more. Most players have their own EPG refresh, and some need the time zone set correctly before the grid lines up. Do not start swapping hosts over a missing guide. You will change a working setup for no reason.

Questions

One sports channel stalls every kickoff and is fine at midnight.

Classic load pattern. Switch to another mirror host before the match starts rather than during it, and keep the credentials unchanged. If the alternate host also degrades at exactly the same time, say so in your report, because that is a different problem.

VOD entries load a spinner and then quit.

The catalog index moves faster than some players can keep up with, so a title that was there yesterday may point at nothing today. Refresh the playlist, then report the exact title and category if it persists.

Can I request a channel be added to my line-up?

You can ask support, but set expectations low. What your credentials carry is determined by the regional package they were issued against, not by per-line adjustments.

The channel plays but the picture is softer than it used to be.

Look for a duplicate entry of the same channel in another category. Sources exist at more than one quality and players do not always land on the same one, so the fix is often selecting the other entry rather than changing anything about the line.

Half a category is dead and the other half is perfect.

That points at whatever feeds that group rather than at your credentials, especially if the same split shows up on a second host. Report the category name plus two or three exact channel names from the dead half.

A channel plays for about a minute and then stops.

Note whether it stops at the same point every time. A consistent stop is usually the stream ending at source. A stop at a random point, with somebody else in the house opening the app, is concurrency doing what it is built to do.

The channel numbers changed overnight.

Renumbering happens at source and your app picked up the new list. Nothing is broken and nothing needs changing. If your favorites list now points at the wrong things, rebuild it after a full playlist refresh rather than before one.

Search finds nothing for a channel I can see in a category.

Search the spelling exactly as it appears in the list, punctuation and prefixes included. Many players match from the first character rather than anywhere in the name, so a leading country tag will hide a channel from an otherwise correct query.

Two entries share a name and only one of them works.

Duplicates across categories are normal on a list this size. Keep the one that plays, and if you report the dead one, name the category it sits in, because the name alone does not identify it.

Does switching host change which channels I get?

No. Mirror hosts serve the same line-up and differ only in current load. If a channel appears on one host and not another, you are looking at a cached list rather than a different line-up, so refresh before drawing conclusions.

A friend sees a channel that I do not have.

Compare the region each line was issued against before anything else. Different regional package, different carriage, and no setting inside either app changes that. If you both hold the same region and still differ, refresh both lists and compare again.

The guide is populated but the channel plays nothing.

Guide data and video come from separate feeds, so a full grid is no evidence that the stream behind it is alive. Treat it as an ordinary dead channel: try a second host, then report it by exact name.

Should I report every dead entry I come across?

Report the ones you actually watch. A report naming two channels you care about, with the hosts you tried, gets acted on. A list of forty entries collected by clicking through categories is mostly noise and it slows down the ones that matter.

Still stuck after all that?

Send the channel, the device and the app you are using and we will look at the line itself.
